Burma Teak
Origin:
Plains and lower hills of Burma. Grows up to 150' tall with 10-12 diameter.
Uses: Flooring, shipbuilding, furniture, cabinetry, paneling, decking
Appearance:
Heartwood is golden yellow, turning to dark brown with age. Sapwood pale yellow, sharply demarcated. Normally straight grained, very coarse and uneven texture.
Physical Properties: Saws easily, takes screws/nails well but tends to be brittle. Glues well. Very strong, heavy wood.
