Jatoba

Origin:
South America

Appearance:
Jatoba, or Brazilian Cherry has an open-grained appearance similar to Oak, but is more than twice as hard. It features slightly darker streaks which provide an appealing contrast against its deep orange color. Several months after the installation, Jatoba will darken somewhat.

Sample swatch shows non-oxidized samples. Most hard wood flooring will change colors after exposed to light. Some species lighten, while others will deepen in color. Jatoba will deepen in color over time.

The reason for noting this is if you plan on using area rugs in any area over hardwood flooring, you must allow 90-120 days minimum for the oxidation process to ensure the color of the wood is consistent. Some species take even longer.
