Carbonized Strand Woven Bamboo

Appearance:
Carbonized Strand Woven bamboo offers the same benefits as natural Strand Woven, but with a honey-amber color. Carbonizing is a method of darkening bamboo by subjecting it to high pressures, temperatures and steam. This process does not affect the strength of the product. It is a better alternative to staining, since the color is through the grain, and will retain its color after sanding.

High quality strand woven bamboo flooring comes with precisely cut strands arranged in parallel lines and interwoven together. It comes in two colors: a light blond color, and a deep honey-amber color for the carbonized version. Strand Woven bamboo is a one-piece board since the strands are glued together. This makes it extremely durable and easy to care for. It is idea for high traffic areas.

Strand Woven bamboo is perhaps one of the most eco-friendly flooring choices. This is because all scraps left behind in making standard bamboo planks are recycled and used when making Strand Woven bamboo.

Properties:
Finished strand woven bamboo floors have a rich texture that are extremely durable at an incredible 2820 PSI. This puts Strand Woven in the same category as Iron Wood (2890 PSI) and Brazilian Cherry (2820PSI) in terms of durablity, but is more affordable and much easier to work with.
