Mulberry Carbonized...Mulberry carbonized

Scientific Name:         Moso bamboo

Janka hardness:          2820

Other names and species: N/A

Origin:    China

Appearance:    It is a dark honey color with actual mulberry branches throughout the board. The carbonized color is achieved by heat pressing the bamboo, not staining, which means it retains its color even after sanding. (The carbonizing process does not affect the durability of this flooring option.)

Mulberry bush branches during the pruning season in the past were discarded and burned. The strandwoven technology has given us the opportunity to utilize these branches to give a uniquely beautiful floor.

Mulberry Carbonized is very hard, very durable and moisture resistant. Due to its durability, it is suitable for both commercial and residential purposes-ideal for high traffic areas. Mulberry Carbonized, as with other strandwoven flooring options is an eco-friendly flooring choice. This is because all scraps left behind in making standard bamboo planks are recycled and used when making Mulberry Carbonized.

Properties:  Strandwoven is a one-piece board since the strands are glued together. This makes it extremely durable and easy to care for. It is ideal for high traffic areas. Finished strandwoven floors have a rich texture that are extremely durable at an incredible 2820 PSI. This puts strandwoven flooring in the same category as Iron Wood and Brazilian Cherry in terms of durability, but is more affordable and much easier to work with.
