Properties: Red Maple is classified as a hardwood (other species of Maple are considered soft). Red Maple is stiff, strong, dense and extremely tough, with excellent shock resistance.

As flooring, it is used in homes, bowling alleys and dance floors. This resilient wood is also used for lumber, furniture, cabinetry, bowling pins, musical instruments and piano frames.
