Origin:     United States, China

Appearance:    Very light brown, with a creamy tint or cream colored cast. Longer grain with occasional swirls and burls. Distinctive white rays are what make white oak so prized for construction of “Mission” style furniture and woodwork.

Properties:       White oak is durable and has good resistance to splitting and excellent holding ability.

Principal uses:   Oak is practically synonymous with high-quality, durable, and distinctively attractive wood floors. Other uses include furniture, moldings, doors, kitchen cabinets and caskets.
