Appearance: Cumaru is a beautiful, exotic wood which ranges from a honey-tan color to deep brown. It features a slightly irregular grain and is somewhat wavy texture.
Properties: Cumaru is resistant to insect attack and decay. Cumaru is only 2.5% softer than Ipe, is over 160% harder than white oak, almost 85% harder than jarrah, and is roughly 60% harder than Santos mahogany.
Principal uses: Cumaru’s uses include flooring, cabinetry, pianos, canoes, and general construction.
